Abdomen Canvas at Will’s Pub
Five dollars at the door Abdomen Canvas is on the stage already pummeling those who dare to stand in front of them. I've seen this band before at places like Club Firestone and The Haven, and let's say they were slightly less than impressive, but tonight they crushed.
A sort of Black Dhaliaesque sound that contorts into nice melodies at times and the ever-epic breakdown slowed to the dry hump of molesting the dead with low-end distortion. However brutal this band is the crowd is lacking to say the least and the band has nothing to feed on; it's truly brutal watching a show with such little crowd involvement but what can you do when there are only six people watching.
Abdomen Canvas, truly crushing though they were, tonight may just have been good because of the atmosphere: true underground. I feel like overall their energy was lacking but they were tight as a band and even with such little crowd involvement, they managed to get heads banging. Abdomen Canvas comes highly recommended.
