About Gravedigger Magazine

Created and edited by Arch Bernard

We believe that the underground music scene is a treasure chest.  All those bands that are popular today were once underground and none of them blew up overnight. The truth is that there are hundreds of really good, innovative bands out there right now.  There's a whole world of undiscovered music out there and what will be so popular tomorrow is being created and cultivated today in those tiny all-ages clubs and in warehouses and on tour.

It's hard for the music to take off if nobody notices it and with everybody's attention on Justin Beiber and Underoath and Paramore. Nobody hears the band playing down the street for $8, but will set the world on fire in three years.  While U2 is on their 12th album and Coldplay is copying Joe Satriani, nobody hears the guys who have a 5 song EP and a dozen new songs.  The innovation isn't in the headlines, it's in the trenches.

Gravedigger Magazine is an independent publication that shines light into the trenches; highlighting the talent and efforts of underground hardcore bands and musicians while still entertaining readers.  Gravedigger Magazine will be regularly updated with blog entries, album reviews, live reviews, interviews and more.

The only purpose Gravedigger Magazine has is to help raise a healthy underground music scene so that it can grow into a healthy mainstream.

The Good Ol' Days
The Good ol' Days is a serial, published on Mondays, written by the bands and the fans who participate on local and regional levels. If you have an anecdote or an editorial piece about how it was, or just one of your favorite moments in the underground scene, send it to submissions[at]gravediggermagazine.com.  We will examine your work and if we like it or think that it is good, we will gladly publish it and we will never withhold credit.  This is a labor of love, and we don't get paid for this so I'm afraid we won't be able to pay you for your submission.

Photographers
If you want to submit photographs to Gravedigger Magazine, send your work to arch[at]gravediggermagazine.com with any information you think we should have.  We will examine your work and if we like it or think that it is good, we will gladly publish it.  The same applies, we will give you full credit but we won't be able to pay you but we do believe in karma and fostering relationships, so you do for us and we'll do for you.
