A Tale of Two Bands: Kevin Conway from East of the Wall

After a brilliant sophomore release, East of the Wall are entering the studio once again in May to record their third full-length, entitled The Apologist. I went out after work and caught up with guitarist and vocalist Kevin Conway, after hearing a great live set at Union Pool, where they played a few songs from their upcoming record, The Apologist (Translation Loss Records).

Interview with American Sixgun

Kevin Says that these guys are pretty tight and I'm inclined to agree with him.  American Sixgun have a truly incredible blend of styles: 1 part metal, 1 part blues, 2 parts southern hospitality and none of that nu-metal bullshit that's so easily mixed in; American Sixgun have found a winning combination and hit the road with it.  I caught up with the band after their set at the Vans Warped Tour and they told me about their trips to The South, playing Warped and their new record, Gypsy Circus and the Southern Wind.

Rosetta: Interview with Dave Grossman

Rosetta

Rosetta have been together, doing the DIY thing for 7 years now, blending ambience and brutality to create some of the most intensely diverse records available. Last month, they released their most brilliant record to date, A Determinism of Reality (on Translation Loss Records). "Uncompromisingly beautiful and absolutely devastating" sums it up in a few words.  Bassist, Dave Grossman was kind enough to let me run up his phone bill while he told me about the band, the new album and what it's like on the road, in Philly and overseas.

Imperial: Interview with Dale Dupree and Josh Adelman

Imperial have been doing their thing for almost a decade; their skill, tenacity and DIY work ethic put them on underground goldmine, Pluto Records and from day 1, they have taken no prisoners. With their debut album, We Sail at Dawn aging, they got a new lineup, and some new ideas and are hitting the studio to bring out a new EP, entitled Taken from the Bones of the Sea. We caught up with Dale Dupree and Josh Adelman to talk about the band, the new EP and how they've enjoyed their careers in indie music.

Dear Lovely: interview with Chris Heaton

Knoxville, TN’s Dear Lovely have a healthy blend of hardcore and indie rock that is just as original as it is accessible. With their diverse, catchy songwriting and hard work Dear Lovely intend to do big things this summer and in the coming year. We caught up with their drummer, Chris, after a show at Swayze’s Venue in Marietta, GA to discuss his craft, his band and his faith.

O’ Youth and Beauty: Interview with Chris Parker

O' Youth and Beauty pride themselves on their no-nonsense attitude, high-energy live set, original sound and relevant lyrical content. With their new album Horns on the way, we wanted to see what the band is all about. We rode out to 550's Blues in Macon, Georgia to get an interview with vocalist, Chris Parker.
